Children and pinwheels

PINWHEELS!

Pinterest is is such an inspiring site. Though I often find myself spending waaay to much time there! I of course ran across this pinwheel mobile, fell in love with it, and I just HAD to make it! I found the idea on a blog (GusAndLula). I did have to do some research to find and order the mobile since it was sold out at Target. Like the blog, I did sew mine instead of using a pin. To me the pinwheels are a little stronger sewn.

On a little more serious and inspiring note, pinwheels are the symbol for prevention of child abuse. Or more specifically Pinwheels for Prevention. A week ago I was out and about and noticed blue and silver pinwheels spinning. They were posted outside of  a local high school and I wondered what they were for. I mentioned it to my mother and she informed me of the organization.

Please, If you know of a child being abused, get help! The damage you are doing, knowing, is just as terrible as the abuser! Get Help.

This little detail kinda makes me emotional. A while ago when I chose to change my logo, I thought of pinwheels being a sign of children, their innocence, and fun nature and free spirit. If this isn’t conformation that a pinwheel was meant to be my logo, I’m not sure what is!

I loved doing this project! So go out and customize one for yourself!
